The CoMPaSS-NMD project is at the forefront of developing innovative computational approaches to revolutionize patient stratification in neuromuscular disorders (NMDs). To support this mission, the Young Investigator Training (YIT) initiative was established to foster the growth of young researchers in the field.

The YIT Initiative: the 2024 summer edition

The YIT 1 program, from June to August 2024, aimed to introduce the CoMPaSS-NMD project to young researchers and equip them with the skills and knowledge necessary to address the complex challenges faced by NMD patients. This first series provided comprehensive training in the clinical evaluation of the patient conditions effectively using the electronic structured clinical report form (eSCRF) and phenotype ontology developed within CoMPaSS-NMD.

Successful completion of the program resulted in a certificate of participation, granting priority access to the YIT Autumn School, organised within the same initiative from 29 September to 1 October.

The CoMPaSS-NMD YIT initiative is a vital component of the project’s mission to improve patient outcomes in NMDs. By providing comprehensive training and fostering collaboration, the YIT program is empowering the next generation of NMD researchers to make a significant impact on the field.
