Join us for this seminar as we delve into the complex and fascinating world of muscle behavior, exploring both normal function and the changes that occur in neuromuscular diseases.

Who should attend?

The workshop is primarily aimed at healthcare professionals and researchers in NMD but is open to anyone interested.

DATE: 11 March 2025 at 9:00 CET

VENUE: I.G.B.M.C. – Institut de génétique et de biologie moléculaire et cellulaire, 1 rue Laurent Fries, ILLKIRCH (Strasburg, France)

Hybrid event: in person and online. You can also participate in the workshop remotly.

AGENDA

Gisèle Bonne, who also is a member of the CoMPaSS-NMD Scientific Advisory Board, will depict the omins strategies at the European level. Her research focuses on the genetics and pathophysiology of neuromuscular disorders, particularly laminopathies and collagen VI-related myopathies. Her work emphasizes bench-to-bedside translation.

Fabrice Bertile will tell us about his research aiming at discovering specific adaptation mechanisms of species living in conditions considered “extreme” for humans that could be transferred to them to improve their health. His approach is multidisciplinary (developing analytical and bioinformatics methods in proteomics, exploring the physiology of, e.g., hibernation, ageing, life in ‘contaminated’ environments).

Alain Meyer will talk about inflammatory myophaties analysed through transcriptomics. He is the director of the Physiology and Functional Exploration Department at Strasbourg University Hospitals. His work focuses on improving patient care through early diagnosis and monitoring of cardiorespiratory and muscle function.
